We sat down with French music producer Feder<\/a> to talk about his new EP, career hightlights, fashion and much more.<\/p>\n

When did you first realise you could make a career in music?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I guess it was when I heard Goodbye on the radio for the first time. This was really new and intense. I called my family and told them \u201cI might be up to something good\u201d.<\/p>\n

Name three artists you had on your playlist growing up?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The usual suspects: Radiohead, James Blake, and some old school hip hop acts.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve just released your EP Breathe! How proud are you of the EP?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very proud. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019m releasing multiple songs at the same time; I usually release single after single. So this EP is something special. I have the feeling I could go into directions that are different from what I\u2019ve put out so far. It might be a bit more left of centre because I didn\u2019t feel like every song HAD to be a radio hit.<\/p>\n

How long did it take to finish?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to say. I have the feeling that it was pretty quick to finish, but mainly because I gathered songs I\u2019d been working on over the past year. So it was more something like \u201cOK I have all of these tracks that I love, let\u2019s make something out of it\u201d.<\/p>\n

Favourite track from the EP?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love all of them, of course. Especially since these tracks are a small selection from a big amount of songs. So it\u2019s kind of my own \u2018Best Of\u2019. But \u2018Breathe\u2019 is my favourite, because it\u2019s a great mix of my influences – also thanks to Quentin who\u2019s performing on it.<\/p>\n

Favourite track to perform live?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

From my own songs I\u2019d say \u2018Lordly\u2019, which I usually use as my closing song.<\/p>\n

If you could collaborate with one other artist, past or present, who would it be?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It used to be Diplo, but now I don\u2019t really know. I recently got to Speak with DJ Snake after a soccer game in Paris. And we got along well, so that could be a very good option.<\/p>\n

What song have you got on repeat at the moment?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Black Caviar \u2013 Coco Puff!<\/p>\n

What has been your 2017 highlight?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s always difficult to rank great memories. I did the closing set of a massive festival in Paris in September. It\u2019s called F\u00eate de l\u2019Huma. That was amazing.<\/p>\n

What has been your career highlight?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t have one particular highlight. But travelling and meeting people from all over the world is a constant highlight. Although if I\u2019d have to name one thing, I\u2019d mention Exit Festival, where I played while the sun was rising late at night. Or early in the morning – depends on how you see it.<\/p>\n

How do you spend your down time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

With my family mostly. Since I\u2019m on the road quite often, or locked up in the studio, I try my best to spend time with them as much as I can.<\/p>\n

Are you touring soon?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m kind of constantly touring. Sometimes it\u2019s just a bit more intense, like during summer. But I usually never stop being on tour.<\/p>\n

If I wasn\u2019t a musician I\u2019d be\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

My dad would say doctor!<\/p>\n

Favourite film & TV series?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love Peaky Blinders! The new season recently came out.<\/p>\n

Drink of choice on a night out?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moscow Mule!<\/p>\n

Describe your style\/fashion?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a mixture between designer brands and streetwear.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s your biggest style inspiration?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

My brother.<\/p>\n

How do you spend Christmas day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

With my family, either in Paris or South of France.<\/p>\n

Are you an organised or last minute present buyer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quite last minute I have to admit haha.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your New Year\u2019s resolution?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drink and eat less haha.<\/p>\n
