We caught up with DJ\/Producer Olly James<\/a> to chat about new music, festivals, fashion and what’s in store for this summer.<\/p>\n

When did you first realise you could make a career in music?<\/strong><\/p>\n

To be honest when I first started going out & partying when I was younger, dance music was really big, so I was instantly hooked. Then when I really looked into it I discovered all these DJs playing these huge festivals & that became my biggest dream<\/p>\n

Name three artists you had on your playlist when you were younger?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I used to love RnB & Hip Hop when I was younger so I always listened to Chris Brown, T-Pain & Ne-Yo.<\/p>\n

Where and when was your first ever live performance?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My first ever show was actually in Scotland in a small club, I was so nervous!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best part of being a DJ\/Producer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Travelling the world & meeting fans is the best thing! Working from home on my own time is also a bonus.<\/p>\n

If you could collaborate with one other artist, past or present, who would it be? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Dua Lipa for sure, her voice is amazing.<\/p>\n

Have you got any new music out at the moment you can discuss?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I actually have a new song called \u201cTurn Away\u201d out on Maxximize records, it\u2019s a clubby song with some house vibes!<\/p>\n

Other than your own, what song have you got on repeat at the moment?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mabel \u2013 fine line, I always hear it on the radio in the UK & I love it so catchy<\/p>\n

What has been your career highlight?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The highlight has got to be playing Tomorrowland, I used to watch the live streams when I was younger, never thought id end up playing there<\/p>\n

Are you playing or attending any festivals this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ive got some really cool festival shows planned this year overseas, but I really wanna check out creamfields again as a spectator as its been years since I was last there<\/p>\n

What about a Lad\u2019s holiday? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I have no plans yet but I hope I can get some more shows in hot countries!<\/p>\n

Where and when was your most memorable performance and why?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has to be Tomorrowland again, it was such a dream to play there & even though it was raining, the crowd were super energetic. It really gave me chills and a lot of adrenaline.<\/p>\n

Where, when & who gave your most memorable performance and why?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me it has to be Swedish house mafia when they reunited this year at ultra as it was so iconic.<\/p>\n

How do you spend your down time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I spend my spare time at the gym & or out with friends, or just generally chilling out.<\/p>\n

If I wasn\u2019t a DJ I\u2019d be\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Probably working as a barman in a nightclub still!<\/p>\n

Favourite film & TV series?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I absolutely love Narcos.<\/p>\n

Drink of choice on a night out?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Always vodka & coke for me.<\/p>\n

If you could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pizza even though it would probably kill me.<\/p>\n

Describe your style\/fashion?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love dressing casual & in all black but all DJs like black!<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s your biggest style inspiration?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Beckham since he always looks fresh!<\/p>\n

What would you wear on a night out?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I always like to wear skinny jeans & a long t shirt with a necklace.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s your dream girl?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I used to have a huge crush on Shakira when I was younger, but nowadays I\u2019d have to say my girlfriend or she\u2019d kill me haha.<\/p>\n

What are you looking forward to most in 2018?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m really looking forward to summer & going back to asia.<\/p>\n
