I\u2019ve also been listening to a lot of Yellow Magic Orchestra stuff and its associated acts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Name three artists you had on your playlist growing up\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blink 182, Linkin Park &amp; Limp Bizkit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where was your first ever gig and how did it go?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I played a frat party at a college. It was okay, I think it went as well as any first show could go. I was nervous for 3 weeks prior to the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giraffage is an unusual\u00a0name. How did you come up with it and what\u2019s the reasoning behind it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an arbitrary name to be honest. I wanted to pick a name that was &#8220;google-able&#8221;. Also giraffes are one of my favorite animals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you describe your sound?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I take older sounds and mix them with new ones. I like using pretty chords and sparkly leads.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Congratulations on releasing your debut album, <em>Too Real<\/em>. How excited and proud are you with the finished result?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m very excited and proud, it\u2019s been 2 years in the making. I literally locked myself in my room for the last 2 years and churned out song after song, then whittling it all down to the best 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you face any difficulties with this album?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, I faced a lot of self-doubt and uncertainty while writing this album.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You&#8217;re embarking on a European tour early next year. What are you most excited about when thinking about it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a huge food lover, so I\u2019m real excited about eating local food in every new city I\u2019m in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you most nervous about?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I hope I don\u2019t get hit by a train\/bus. It\u2019s almost happened a few times every time I\u2019m in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s been your biggest career highlight so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Playing this festival called Outside Lands in San Francisco. My parents were there and I think that was one of the shows where everything clicked for them and they understood what I was doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What song have you got playing on repeat at the moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lil pump \u2013 Gucci gang<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could collaborate with one other artist, past or present, who would it be and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d collaborate with Drake because his vocal melodies are always so on point.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s been your summer highlight of 2017?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been getting really into exercising and fitness. This summer has been the fittest I\u2019ve been in a long time. I\u2019ve been feeling great about that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you spend your time when you\u2019re not recording or performing?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Catch me at home hanging out with my cat and eating delicious food.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite film\/TV series?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nathan For You is a current favorite. I also really dig Stranger Things.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drink of choice on a night out?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sparkling water (san Pellegrino)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you explain your fashion sense? How would you describe your style?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I put in a lot of effort into looking like I don\u2019t put in any effort.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who would you say is your biggest style icon?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Asian grandmas always have the best style and I want to emulate it more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Describe yourself in three words?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aloof, crazy &amp; neurotic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice do you have your any aspiring musicians?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>See what everyone else is doing and then do the opposite of that.
