For this section of the series we take things out of England and over to Scotland, Edinburgh to be exact. If you\u2019re heading there to study then you\u2019ll already know it\u2019s a beautiful city with castles and stunning viewpoints, however for paying a short visit, the best times of year to visit are for the Fringe festival in August and around Christmas time for the picturesque wintery vibes. TO EAT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ting Thai Caravan<\/a><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re after a cheap restaurant with zero frills in Edinburgh, then Ting Thai Caravan is the place to head. Located next to the uni with dishes from \u00a34, it\u2019s a pop-up venture that became so popular is now a permanent fixture. Their \u2018Gai Cha Plu\u2019 small box is filled with \u2018marinated chicken grilled, lemongrass, ginger, lime leaf, cha plu leaf, garlic, coriander & coconut milk\u2019, and is sure to bring a taste of Thailand to any library lunch break.<\/p>\n

Whisky and Scotland go hand in hand, and this bar has an array of whiskies from across the globe. The drinks menu also boasts a selection of craft beers, wines and fancy cocktails. If you\u2019re heading out on a night out in Edinburgh then this a great spot for pre drinks, be sure to try the \u2018Beet you to Miyagikyo\u2019 which is made with Japanese whiskey served in a dainty china tea cup. Or if you feeling really brave a flight of 5 different whiskies from \u00a322 will warm your cockles.<\/p>\n
