Ridley Scott this week followed up on his incredible Blade Runner trailer with the announcement of something we thought might never happen. The Aliens are back and do they look meaner than ever. The Alien (including AVP) are regarded as being some of the most scintillating sci-fi horror films of all time, pairing stranded space explorers against the terrifying creatures in the dark.

Coming as part of the Prometheus trilogy, Alien: Covenant is set ten years after the Prometheus film which ended with the Maker being torn apart by a creature we’ve never seen before. Starting with a terrified woman trapped in a room with an infected, and imploding, counterparts and the bloodshed as his spine cracks – is that something coming out of him? We move on to the familiar face of David, played by Michael Fassbender, and that’s where the mystery begins. Is this David, is there more than one?

The biggest question of all follows: Why would you even get off the ship? The place looks eerie enough and there’s obviously something bad about to happen so why would you? Exploration naturally leads to the discovery of some sort of egg (shock) and carnage ensues as the Alien shows its grizzly face in the shower.

We’ll have to wait until May to find out exactly what happens so repeatedly watching the trailer will have to do for now:
