Everton vs Leicester was the most end-to-end game of football in the Premier League this weekend.

The first half saw 5 goals, 3 of which were inside the first 10 minutes. The much talked about Tom Davies bagged inside the first 30 seconds of the game; a goal that comes after signing a five-year contract earlier in the week.

However, it took the Premier League champions just 4 minutes to equalize and 10 minutes for Albrighton to curl in a peach of a free kick, straight into the top corner.

Having received his fair share of criticism over the past two weeks, Ross Barkley stepped up throughout the game and silenced critics with an incredible ball from the right which landed perfectly to none other than Lukaku, who headed it past Kasper Schmeichel.  Everton’s captain Phil Jagielka was able to put the toffees back in front with his second consecutive goal in two games. Leaping above Leicester’s defence to comfortably put away a header from a corner, the captain put Ronald Koeman’s men ahead at the end of the first half.

The Premier League’s top goal scorer was able to further his lead against Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot. Lukaku found the back of the net for a second time in the game with a right-footed finish at the far post. After the game, Ronald Koeman described the Belgian striker as “one of the best strikers in the world” and said “he will do everything he can to keep him at Goodison Park”.

Our MAN of the match goes to Tom Davies. The young midfielder showed his intelligence and his ability to read the game gave Everton the advantage over the game. Davies is the captain of England’s under 19s squad. If he continues this level of football we wonder how long it will take for him to get the call from Gareth Southgate.

Everton have now won their last 7 games at home and are now level on points with Arsenal, who face Crystal Palace away tonight. Their win over Leicester keep their Champion’s League dream alive, but with all top 5 clubs taking 3 points this weekend, the next 6 weeks will be crucial for Everton.

There’s more Premier League action tonight as Arsenal try and join Manchester Utd at 5th position and Crystal Palace try to escape relegation.
