We\u2019ve caught up with the famous, Ibiza born Mambos Brothers to talk music, fashion and their residency in new super club, Hi Ibiza.<\/p>\n
Who influences you musically?<\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s hard to say because we are influenced by so many people we have listened to over the last 20 years. We\u2019ve been lucky to have grown up listening Sasha, Roger Sanchez, Franckie Knuckles, Pete Tong and so many more \u2013 we have definitely been influenced by them. Right now we really like Nic Fanciulli, Hot Since 82, Guy Gerber\u2026<\/p>\n When was the precise moment you realised you could make a career in music?<\/strong><\/p>\n It all just kind of happened. We started little by little, playing in different cities, different clubs on the island and now we have our first residency at the brand new club H\u00cf. It\u2019s very exciting.<\/p>\n How do you find working as Brothers? <\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s great \u2013 we\u2019ve always done it running the family business and now DJing.<\/p>\n Who works the hardest?<\/strong><\/p>\n Alan! Just to do his hair takes a lot of time\u2026(Chris) lol<\/p>\n You\u2019ve just announced your first weekly Ibiza residency, hosting the club room of <\/strong>H\u00ef Sundays<\/em><\/strong>. How does it feel to become the first Ibiza-born DJs to head up a residency at an island super club?<\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s very exciting. We\u2019re honoured to be the first Ibiza-born DJs to have a residency, to have made it this far is amazing. We\u2019ve been to the club a few times since it opened and it\u2019s really going to be amazing. We can\u2019t wait for July 2nd<\/sup> \u2013 our opening party!<\/p>\n What\u2019s the best part of being international DJs?<\/strong><\/p>\n Definitely not the time we spend in the airports! We like discovering new cities, new restaurants and meeting people from all over the world.<\/p>\n You\u2019re the name behind Caf\u00e9 Mambo. Can you describe the Caf\u00e9 Mambo vibe for anyone who hasn\u2019t been there? From the music, the venue, the people and the famous sunset view. <\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s a true Ibiza experience. You can have dinner, watch the best sunset in the world, sip on a few cocktails and listen to great music. What else can you ask for!<\/p>\n Where is the most memorable venue you\u2019ve ever played?<\/strong><\/p>\n Uno in Malta \u2013 it\u2019s an open-air night club full of pine trees and an amazing dancefloor.<\/p>\n What is the most memorable DJ set you\u2019ve ever seen?<\/strong><\/p>\n Eric Prydz when he played a special guest at Mambo for 3 hours. He built the set up and up and up and it was pure magic. I don\u2019t know how he does it!<\/p>\n What does a typical day in the life of the Mambos Brothers look like when you\u2019re not creating music?<\/strong><\/p>\n 11:00 AM Coffee<\/p>\n 11:15 AM Gym<\/p>\n 1:00 PM Meet up with some friend DJs and go out on the boat. Stop in Cala Gracionet for a nice lunch, champagne sangria and a few Javier\u2019s Margaritas<\/p>\n 5:00 PM Siesta on the boat<\/p>\n 7:00 PM head over to Mambo for the sunset & pre-parties<\/p>\n 10:00PM head over to Villa Mercedes for dinner in the San Antonio Marina<\/p>\n 1:00 AM head out to the clubs.. til late J<\/p>\n Apart from Ibiza, what other major events are you playing at this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n We have our summer residency at Pacha Barcelona, so we will be there three times before end of the summer, then we heading to Malta on August 14th<\/sup> for Creamfields, and London on July 29th<\/sup> for Corona Sunset festival. Being honest, apart of Festivals, we are very focus on our party this summer\u2026<\/p>\n What do you wear on a night out in Ibiza?<\/strong><\/p>\n Christian \u2013 black; Alan \u2013 some sort of flower-y shirt<\/p>\n And always our favourite pair of Diesel jeans!<\/p>\n Drink of choice on a night out?<\/strong><\/p>\n Good tequila!
