Jose Mourinho claims his second major trophy in his first season at Manchester United and found a way back into next year’s Champions League, as his side beat contenders Ajax in a comfortable 2-0 win. In what can only be described as a frustrating season for the Portuguese manager, it was all smiles and cheering as he ran on the pitch to celebrate with his players, and was hoisted in the air by his coaching staff.
Manchester United took the lead within the first 20 minutes as Pogba’s deflected shot wrong-footed the Ajax goalkeeper and sailed into the net. Mkhitaryan made his way onto the game’s score-sheet as his 48th minute goal, his sixth in the Europa League run, clinched the victory for the Manchester side and confirmed they would add to the EFL Cup, which they won against Southampton back in February.
It was a win not only for the club, but a win for all of Manchester; a city united!
