Can’t be bothered to head out for Halloween this year? Fear not, or, fear a LOT! We thought we’d compile a list of our top ten classic scariest films to chill in front of the TV with your favourite popcorn and spooky PJs.
10. 28 Days Later (2002)
Four weeks after a mysterious and incurable virus has hit the UK, a handful of survivors attempt to find sanctuary. Your go-to film if zombies are your thing!
9. The Blair Witch Project (1999)
The first ever ‘lost footage’ film follows the story of three students who go missing after they visit Maryland to explore the local legend of the Blair Witch, leaving only their camcorder behind.
8. The Shining (1980)
This cult classic follows a family heading to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

Ancient vampire Count Dracula arrives in England and begins to prey upon virtuous young Mina.
6. Frankenstein (1931)
This classic film follows obsessive scientist Dr. Frankenstein and his assistant Fritz, who successfully manages to make a creature compromising of body parts from the deceased. However, the creature soon escapes and wreaks havoc on the countryside as it tries to understand itself. Frankenstein soon realises he needs to confront his demonic creation before there are disastrous consequences.

After being in hypersleep for 57 years, Ilen Ripley is rescued by a salvage team. The moon that the Nostromo visited has been colonised, but contact is lost. This time, colonial marines have impressive firepower, but will that be enough?
4. The Babadook (2014)
Arguably one of the scariest films of modern cinema, The Babadook follows a single mother as she deals with her sons fear of an imaginary monster lurking in their house. However, she soon realises it’s not The Babadook that she should be afraid of.

Marion is on the run after stealing $40,000 from her employer when she stops for a rest break at a rundown Bates Motel ran by Norman Bates, a young man with an obsession with taxidermy and a troubling relationship with his mother.

Carrie White, a shy and reserved teenager, discovers she has telekinetic powers and uses them to unleash hell on her bullying classmates.
1. Get Out (2017)
Labelled as the scariest film in modern cinema, Get Out follows Chris and his girlfriend on their weekend getaway to visit her parents.It soon takes a sinister turn for Chris when several disturbing discoveries are made throughout their stay.
