UEFA have unveiled their pick of the best to make their team of the 21st century. To nobody’s surprise, the annual battle for player of the year contestants Ronaldo and Messi make the cut, and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry joins the pair to make one hell of a strike force.
Gerrard is the only English player to feature in the XI, with Xavi and Iniesta making up the three man midfield. Philipp Lahm, Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos are added to the squad to make what would be an impenetrable defence, and former Real Madrid keeper Casillas grabs that number one spot.
