Liam Gallagher has announced that his first solo gig will be in his hometown of Manchester, with all proceeds going to the fund for families of the Manchester attack’s victims; a huge gesture from the Oasis front man and another incredible act of solidarity after the awful events that happened earlier this week.

The gig will take place next week, Tuesday 30th of May at the 02 Ritz, and is the performance is the first time Liam will perform as a solo artist.

He spoke recently with the MEN about his decision: “I just knew I had to. I’m not in it for the money. The gig was going to happen anyway and we all have to do what we can. I want to try and help pick people up. People like me, doing what we do, it’s our duty to give people a good time.”

Liam is one of many celebrities donating to the cause; Russel Brand donated the proceeds of a stand-up gig in Southport, Tom Hardy set up a fundraising page and footballers Wayne Rooney & Phil Neville also donated. Hundreds of celebrities around the world have also expressed their tributes and prayers for the victims and their families.
