Well, it’s here. That’s right, 2018 is upon us and as we say goodbye to one hell of an eventful 2017, we set our sights on what we are looking forward to most in the upcoming year.
Cinema
Shock! There are more superhero films set to release in the New Year. Now I’m not one to complain about a superhero film, but at the moment I can’t keep up. However, I’m still going to pay an extortionate price, get my large popcorn and drink and go enjoy every second of them on the big screen. We have; Avengers: Infinity War, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Black Panther, Deadpool 2, Aquaman, Venon, Ant-Man & the Wasp are to name a few, but the one that has me excited the most, and I’m sure if you were born in the early 90s you will be too, Disney’s The Incredibles are finally making their return after their first film was released back in 2004! We also see Chris Pratt travel back to Jurassic Kingdom in the epic sequel to the re-make of the famous Jurassic Park, and other film titles such as Rampage, Mission Impossible 6, Insidious: The Last Key, Sicario 2: Soldado and Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindelwald have also got us ready for a trip to the cinema.
Music
It’s tour time! Some of the biggest names in music are gearing up for their European and Global tours, taking their most played hits to the stage across the globe. Artists such as Khalid, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Foo Fighters, Sam Smith, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Liam Gallagher, Courteeners, Macklemore are on our live show radar. If it’s the live shows don’t get your blood pumping but new music does, some of our favourite names such as Drake, Chance The Rapper, A$AP Rocky, The Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, MGMT, Cardi B, Florence & The Machine and Gorillaz wil all be back with new tracks bound to smash the charts.
Sport
It’s the big one! The World Cup kicks off on the 14th of June, with hosts Russia taking on Saudi Arabia at 4pm. We will have to wait until the 18th of June to watch the England squad take on Tunisia in the first game of our hopeful journey. Let’s hope the likes of Dele Ali, Sterling and Harry Kane, who are currently playing at the top of their game, continue this form all the way to a trophy. Come on the lads!
We also have the Winter Olympics being held in South Korea from the 9th of February to the 25th.
Royal Wedding
Yes, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the wedding of the nation’s favourite red headed royal and his American fiancé is a global phenomenon. With fans of the family traveling from every corner of the globe, just to catch a glimpse of the couple, it’s hard not to get a little excited about it. The date is May 19th.
