After one of the most impacting albums of the 21st century, you can’t blame Sam Smith for wanting to take a break from music. His album In The Lonely Hour smashed records worldwide and his songs became second nature to cover artists and aspiring musicians. Admitting that the success and the attention was overwhelming, the Stay With Me singer took a two year hiatus, and if you follow him on Instagram, you’d see that he spent his time enjoying his well earned time off with friends and family.

I must admit, with such a sudden drop off, it was questionable how long Sam would stay away from making his heartfelt music; but now he’s back with a powerful ballad and an even more powerful music video. After teasing fans on social media with images of him in the music studio, he then promoted his new single on billboards around New York, LA & London.

He also posted a message on his Instagram thanking his fans for allowing him the time off.

Too Good At Goodbyes is our first taste of Sam’s up and coming album and it continues to portray the heartbreak and relationship troubles we became more than familiar with in his first album.
