The annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City was last night, and there were some pretty swanky outfits. The theme this year was the founder of Comme des Garçons (Rei Kawakubo). Comme des Garçons designs are best described as avant-garde fashion art pieces. Through the years the brand has been pushed to the mainstream audiences with Play Comme Des Garçons and made more ready to wear pieces like the well-known stripe tee with the love heart logo.

Whilst the ladies chose to go down the more artistic route the men went a bit more subtle with some fresh suits and some quirky accessories.

Future displayed his sophisticated yet modern taste, with an updated take on the classic tailcoat.

Making his MET Gala debut, Joe Jonas caught our eye in this burgundy, pinstripe suit with a black ribbed shirt and bow tie.

We saw that a few weeks ago Will Smith cut off Jaden Smith’s dread locks for an upcoming role, but we weren’t expecting the locks to be Jaden’s newest accessory for this year’s Gala.  The ‘Karate Kid’ also blinded us with his shiny gold grills. As weird as his outfit of choice may be, the kid still looks cool.

Taking a quick break from his ‘Starboy’ tour, The Weekend showed up with Selena Gomez at the Gala last night. He looked dapper with this dark suit, bow tie and floral pin that matched Selena’s dress.

In typical Pharrell fashion, he turned heads as he rocked up and rocked out in his punk inspired outfit. He wore a pin covered leather jacket, check shirt and ripped jeans.

Migos lived up to their song last night and gave a Bad and Boujee look on the Gala carpet. The three suited up in all black, sunglasses, dripping in rings and chains.

So that’s our pick of the bunch. If you’ve got a swanky event around the corner, check out the tailoring collection for some smart choices.
