MAN On Campus Student City Guide: Nottingham

Nottingham is the not only the home of Robin Hood and Sherwood forest, but home to 2 major UK Universities. Whether you’re joining the ‘Trent Army’ or ‘Uni of’ you’re in for a treat of three years in this student dominated city, let our student city guide show you the delights and offers Nottingham has to share.

TO EAT:

Annie’s Burger Shack

Over 30 different burgers and every single one can be made meaty, veggie or vegan! Fancy a Sunday roast? Get it in burger form! If you’re feeling adventurous why not go for the Elvis – a burger smothered in peanut butter and jam. All burgers come with a choice of fries, and starting from £8.90 it’s a cheap place to eat in Nottingham.

Oscar and Rosie’s

Oscar and Rosie’s do the best pizzas in town! With loads of options for gluten free vegans as well as meat lovers – it’s a place for everyone! With infamous pizza by the metre, and a cheap restaurant lunch offer with all pizza’s available between 12-3 for £7.

Bodega

Looking for a happy hour? Look no further than the Bodega! With an all-day happy hour on a Monday, and 4-7pm through the rest of the week, with cocktails offers at 2 for 1, and Bodega lager at £2 a pint. Bodega boasts one of the nicest smoking areas in the city and host regular movie nights. Furthermore, the upstairs area is used as a space for gigs and several club nights throughout the week!

Hockley Arts Club

Located behind a plain door in an alleyway, The Hockley Arts club boasts arguably some of the most Instagrammable cocktails and décor. Ordering an Outkast will get you a tequila based cocktail with a Polaroid picture of yourself stuck on the top, or ordering a Twister will get you a fruity beverage with the ice cream classic perched on top of your glass! The Hockley Arts Club also boasts three floors of different themed rooms, each as Instagrammable as the others.

Stealth

Heading out on a weekend in Nottingham but still after a student night? Stealth vs Rescued – occurring every Saturday, Stealth vs Rescued hosts all different types of rooms. Head into Rescue Rooms for indie bangers, or head to Stealth for some bassline and techno in room 1, or hip hop and RnB classics in room two! The best place to go if all your mates are fussy and can never decide where to go!

The Bowery Club  

Want a fancier night out with the ability to be bouji and book a booth for a mate’s birthday or special occasion? Look no further than Bowery. Located in the Lace Market, Bowery is the perfect place to go out if you want to put on a smarter look.

Lost City Adventure Golf

If you’re after fun things to do in Nottingham for students, The Lost City Adventure Golf is based in the lower ground floor of The Cornerhouse and boasts a rainforest themed mini golf course as well as a tiki bar. What more could you want?!

The Kitty Café

Nottingham also boasts one of the first ever Cat Cafes to open in the UK! The Kitty Café is a rehoming and care facility for cats. With a variety of cakes, mocktails and food, it’s the perfect place to chill with with feline friends and mates during the day.

The Gym

The Gym is located right in the centre of Nottingham and a five minute walk from Nottingham Trent University’s city campus. Home to the Nottingham Panthers hockey team, Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Nottingham County Cricket club, there’s plenty of fixtures and events to keep any sports obsessed lad busy!
