MAN On Campus Student City Guide: Liverpool
Welcome to ‘Scouser-land’, full of the nation’s friendliest people and builder of one of the world’s most famous 60’s rock band, The Beatles. Here you will find art, music, food, football and culture. Whether it’s heading to the Baltic Market to check out all the local street food vendors, or heading to the Tate to check out the latest exhibitions, you’ll be sure to find your feet as a new student in this city. TO EAT:
This cool hangout is a foodie’s heaven! Take your pick from loaded chilli cheese fries from the infamous Death Row Diner, Daim cheesecake from The Midnight Delivery, or artisan coffee courtesy of Pres Bro’s. This is also a super ‘dog-friendly’ space, so make sure mum and dad don’t leave the doggo at home when they come to visit during reading week. For fans of Instagram there is also a pair of angel wings painted onto a wall which makes for a perfect profile picture backdrop.
TO DRINK:
This swanky secret bar is sure to impress your mates if you’re going out in Liverpool. Accessed through a hidden passage in a phone box, and by entering a secret code. The underground bar hosts a unique cocktail menu that included large sharing cocktails, as well as signature drinks such as The Catwalk Bellini sipped through a stiletto shoe and ‘Put a Ring On It’ served with a doughnut on the side.
TO DANCE:
The ultimate ‘let’s go dancing’ venue in Liverpool with nights like ABBA vs Chic, Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, and regular raves to the likes of Circus with DJ line up’s including Yousef, Richy Ahmed
Darius Syrossian and Eats Everything. Variety is the spice of life, and Camp and Furnace knows how to please a crowd with it’s student nights in Liverpool.
TO PLAY:
A little on the touristy side of things, however, for fun things to do in Liverpool, the underground pub is famous for its live music scene in the 60’s. The iconic venue has been played by The Kinks, Stevie Wonder, the Rolling Stones and Queen, as well as of course, The Beatles. In more recent years artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse the Artic Monkeys and Jake Bugg have hit the stage of this intimate space. There is live music on every single day and the nostalgic vibes are a plenty.
