Gareth Southgate has announced the England squad ahead of their final two World Cup qualifiers next month. The Three Lions aim to claim their seats to next year’s World Cup as they face Slovenia on the 5th of October before the play Lithuania on the 8th. However, England are two points clear at the top of qualifying Group F and need just one win from the final two matches to seal a place at Russia 2018.
Despite the looming FIFA ban, Southgate has called upon the Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, although the middle-finger gesture in which Alli supposedly raised as a joke during their qualifier against Slovakia, cold leave the England boss without the PFA Young Player Of The Year throughout the international break.
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has been left out of the squad, regardless of him rumoured to have returned to training and to play against Bournemouth on Saturday. Southgate has acknowledged his pain staking mission to play in the Premier League and has suggested resting during the international break will benefit him.
Let’s hope the lads can get an early ticket to the World Cup and do the country proud next week.
