James Cameron and 20th Century Fox have released the news that there will be not one, not two, not three, but four more Avatar films. The filmmaker, director, producer and screen writer said he envisioned two sequels, but realised he had too much material for just two films.

Avatar hit the cinema back in 2009 and broke multiple, worldwide box office records. After just 41 days of its release, the film is the highest-grossing movie of all time. If you saw the film when it came out in cinemas, you’ll remember the impressive cinematography that seemed way ahead of its time.

Well, we have heaps more of that to look forward to, as the sequels are set to be one of the world’s biggest cinematic projects. Stretching over 8 years, the films are due to be released December 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025.
