About ROBERI & FRAUD
Long-time friends Ali Mehrdad and Stefan Foster launched exclusive eyewear brand Roberi & Fraud in 2017 with this aim: to provide accessible sunglasses with an elevated, high-end aesthetic. In the last three years, Roberi & Fraud has skyrocketed, achieving all that and more.
The brand’s 90s-inspired, retro-futurist sunglasses have taken over Instagram and earned a strong cult following in the fashion world. These luxe, street-style shades have quickly become synonymous with high-class celebrity style, too. They’re favoured by celebrity trendsetters such as Kendall Jenner, Rihanna, YG, Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and more.
Roberi & Fraud’s premium eyewear looks are characterised by futuristic frames, premium quality and clean silhouettes. Sell-out styles include the Betty (a glossy black, 90s-inspired cat-eye acetate design), the Doris (gold-tone metal sunglasses with black, oval lenses) and the Frances (sleek oval-frame acetate shades with tinted lenses). Now, this new sunglasses collection irresistibly combines Roberi & Fraud’s aspirational, high-end aesthetic with boohooMAN’s dedication to affordable, trend-led fashion.
About Luka Sabbat
Who is Luka Sabbat?
Model, entrepreneur, creative director, stylist, actor and influencer – Luka Sabbat wears a lot of hats. The native New Yorker counts Kanye West, Virgil Abloh, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Chloë Stevens Sevigny amongst his friends, and holidays with the Kardashians. And, at just 22 years old, he’s already collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion, from Dolce & Gabbana to Hugo Boss.
Luka Sabbat: an all-round creative
Given his upbringing, it could be argued that Luka was always destined for a life in fashion. His father was a fashion designer, and his mother worked as a stylist for John Galliano and Dior. Luka spent his childhood backstage at the runways in Paris, and his teenage years in New York, building a massive Instagram following (current count: 2.3 million) as one of the coolest fashion kids in the city.
Since he was discovered by ReQuest Model Management at the age of 15, Luka’s modelling career has seen him appear on a number of high-profile runways and big-name campaigns around the globe. In 2015, an 18-year-old Luka made his catwalk debut in Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 Presentation at New York Fashion Week. His extensive resume also includes walking for Dolce & Gabbana and campaign work for Diesel, Asics, American Eagle, Evian and Footlocker. Outside of modelling, Luka stars in the US sitcom series Grown-ish (a spin-off of Black-ish). He also made his movie debut in the zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die last year.
Luka Sabbat’s collaborations
In 2017, Luka teamed up with artist Noah Dillon to create a photography and multi-media project called Hot Mess. And, the art collective has since launched a unique capsule clothing collection. The exclusive range of streetwear pieces is characterised by bold graphics, politicised prints and oversized silhouettes.
Last year, Luka also partnered with Champion to launch a limited edition collection celebrating the sportswear brand’s 100th anniversary. One of his most recent collaborations – announced in July – sees him paired once more with Italian jewellery designer Gianni Monini. Inspired by Luka’s trademark street style and his personal tattoos, the new line-up includes artisan necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets embellished with crystals, anime-inspired scythes and gothic skulls.
Luka Sabbat’s outfits and fashion
Luka’s aesthetic can best be described as authentically stylish and effortlessly cool. His signature looks are truly unique: an eclectic mix of street and smart, flawlessly pairing sharp tailoring with urban statement pieces. On both the catwalk and the street, he can pull off designer suits, baggy joggers and vintage florals with equal ease. In fact, he once stepped out at the Met Gala wearing a custom-made beaded silk bathrobe and still managed to look every inch the style icon.
As an influential social media personality, Luka is always one step ahead of an emerging trend. He was one of the first to adopt this year’s new-gen Western trend, for example. And, he is frequently pictured stepping out in cowboy boots and oversized buckles. At last year’s MET Gala, he turned heads when he rocked the neo-cross-sexual look, styling a pleated skirt over wide-leg Louise Vuitton trousers.
Luka isn’t afraid to play around with tradition either, often experimenting with texture, shape and colour to breathe new life into classic menswear staples. And despite his seemingly endless collection of designer pieces – Tom Ford actually gifted him a tux to wear to his high school graduation – many of his outfits can be replicated by the everyday man. His penchant for light-wash denim, statement footwear and baggy joggers, for example – paired with tonal layers and statement jackets – can be easily incorporated into a number of casual-smart looks.
This innate, inspirational and enviable sense of style has led to Luka’s success both as a modern Instagram influencer and as a more traditional advertising model. It’s also what makes this fashion-forward style icon an excellent fit for the boohooMAN x Roberi & Fraud collection.
