Digital Farm Animal’s brand new single Last Night with HARLEE is out now! (check out the single HERE). The producer, singer, songwriter stopped for a chat!

Hi Digital Farm Animals, how are you? Thank you for taking the time out of your day to speak to us!

Hi, I’m good thank you! Lockdown is slowly coming to an end here in the UK so it’s been great to finally have a taste of normal life again.

Could you give us a bit of background info about yourself for the few that may not have heard of you? What type of music do you create? What’s your chosen style?

My name is Digital Farm Animals, but I’m also known as the Pigman (I’m half pig, half-man). I’m an artist, producer and songwriter from the UK. I mostly create pop and dance music, but I also like to include elements of garage, house and hip-hop when writing.

What got you into music? Who were your inspirations growing up?

My musical inspirations include Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Coldplay, Calvin Harris and Massive Attack. Growing up I listened to a mix of genres which has definitely put a certain slant on the way I write today. When I was 13 I got my hands on a copy of FruityLoops and I’ve been making beats ever since!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hopefully I’ll have overtaken Peppa and will be the most famous Pig in the world. It would be a bonus if I’m still writing and releasing music with the best artists and writers there are.

Your new hit single ‘Last night’ featuring HARLEE, how did that collab come about?

Thank you for saying it’s a hit. Makes me feel better. My aim when writing Last Night was to make a feel-good banger that will carry us all out of lockdown and into an amazing summer – it’s been far too long without messy nights out and the morning afters when you can’t believe what you got up to or what someone said to you the night before… I knew I needed an incredible vocalist on the track and I love HARLEE’s previous work, she’s an amazing singer and songwriter. I sent her over the idea for Last Night and we recorded it over Zoom and in the studio. I’m really happy she got on board!

If you could work with one musician, dead or alive, who would it be?

Paul McCartney.

We know that you also recently released a single with Anne Marie and KSI, what was it like working with the two of them?

It was a lot of fun working with both KSI and Anne-Marie on Don’t Play and we’re so glad people loved the song as much as we did! We were also lucky enough to perform it on The One Show and it was amazing to perform live music again. They are both great to work with, although I did get beaten up by Anne-Marie in the music video which was not so fun…

What’s your go-to outfit when performing?

It often depends on the theme of the performance but I love wearing bomber jackets, oversized jumpers and co-ords. You also can’t beat a nice pair of trainers.

Finally, what have you got planned for 2021?

More releases and definitely more live music. I can’t wait for festivals and gigs to return – keep an eye out on my social media for performance news as a Digital Farm Animals’ live set is not something you want to miss!
