We caught up with French producer and DJ Sirus Hood to chat about music, career highlights, summer plans, fashion and much more.
When did you first realise you could make a career in music?
I always dreamt about it, I always knew I would make a career in music. But I realized it when I started to get paid for my first gigs.
Name three artists you had on your playlist when you were younger?
Paul Johnson, Michael Jackson, Daft Punk.
Where and when was your first ever live performance?
15 years ago, in Paris at a student party
What’s the best part of being a DJ/Producer?
DJing your own productions.
If you could collaborate with one other artist, past or present, who would it be?
Paul Johnson… wait… apparently, it’s almost done 😉
Have you got any new music out at the moment or on the way you can discuss?
I just released a remix of Betoko on Dear Deer Records and my latest EP on Wow! called Love EP, with 2 original tracks, Love and Get Down, plus a big remix from Mat.Joe.

What’s the music scene like in Paris?
There is an incredible scene here in Paris nowadays; Very classy and underground. In Paris, people follow the clubs reputation more than the actual parties. By the way, a new club called The Key is opening this weekend, it is anticipated to be the greatest hot spot for underground house music. I’m throwing my first party there next weekend called Hood Trip.
Are you playing or attending any festivals this year?
Playground São Paulo in Brazil; it is the biggest festival out there. The line-up is out of this world. I can’t talk about the next festivals as they are not announced yet.
What about a Lad’s holiday?
I’m waiting to sign a big EP on a big label, if it’s done I’ll take some holidays.
Where and when was your most memorable performance and why?
My first time in Brazil in 2014, at “Live Music and Friends” festival. It was my first time in South America and the Brazilian crowd is the best in the world.
Where, when & who gave your most memorable performance and why?
Elrow Ibiza, summer 2016. Crazy party, I don’t know who was the DJ, I think I was too high haha.
How do you spend your down time?
I play with my cats, I Netflix and chill, call of duty online, I visit family and friends, and I like to go outdoors on my boosted board.
If I wasn’t a DJ I’d be…
Maybe a porn actor.
Favourite film & TV series?
Breaking Bad, Narcos, Casa de Papel, Black Mirror.
Drink of choice on a night out?
Vodka Redbull.
If you could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Only French truffle cheese.
Describe your style/fashion?
Basic long t shirts, I collect rare sneakers and caps. I love wearing unique or rare pieces, kimonos and stylish vests.
Who’s your biggest style inspiration?
DANCE from Amine Edge & DANCE.
What would you wear on a night out?
At the moment I love wearing kimonos. I collaborate with fashion designers like @hafidcollection. I always wear my basic long t shirt and jeans, with a pair of sneakers that will match colour-wise with my kimono/vest.

Looking forward to announcing some of my next crazy releases, collaborations and big international tours.
