King Kendrick is back! Kendrick has been gone too long and we’re glad he’s back with a sick new track, “Humble”, and an even better music video. The Video directed by Dave Meyers Along with “The Little Homies” and has some unreal visuals, like Kendrick and his crew standing with their heads on fire, and some state of the art editing.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Kendrick Music video and trust us, this was worth the wait. Kendrick mentions a lot of social issues in this track, with references to old 80’s – 90’s movies like “Being John Malkovich”, followed by scenes inspired by the famous “Last Supper” painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. Kendrick is center stage with the rest of his crew, sporting hoodies, chains and other street pieces; it gives the perfect modernized feel from an iconic work of art created over 500 Years ago.
Another scene that we were obsessed with was a split screen of the same girl. On the right side is her fully photo-shopped, on the left is the girl looking natural. Kendrick states: “I’m so fuckin’ sick and tired of the Photoshop, show me somethin’ natural like afro on Richard Pryor”.
The track really shows Kendrick’s importance to not just the Hip Hop culture, but all millennials with this social media lifestyle we’re all immersed in.
There are rumours stemming from a track Kendrick dropped a few weeks ago that his album is to release on April 7th. If “Humble” Is anything to go by, we’re all in for a treat.
